Our History
Old Building
Our Flowood church was 'born' during a tent revival in 1941, first known as Pearl City Baptist Church and located in a section of Pearl that would later become Flowood. As this new community grew and prospered, the church's name was changed to match the community. Over the next fifty years of growth and renovation, it became a landmark of Flowood Drive.
As the industry around the church developed, the highway department disclosed its plans to 4-lane Highway 468 (Flowood Drive), the lanes of which just so happened to be drawn right through the center of Flowood Baptist's auditorium. The church was forced to seek a new location.

Compass
After much prayer and long searches, it was learned that several acres were available on Old Fannin Road in a fast-growing residential area of Flowood. Plan were drawn, construction begun, and our new multi-purpose building emerged. This new auditorium worship space also serves as fellowship space with a good-sized kitchen for dinners and other activities.
There was, at first, adequate classroom space in this new facility; but fortunately, we soon outgrew it. Plans were then set in motion for our recently completed educational building. Hopefully, this new building will provide adequate classroom space for a couple of years, until we are ready to build again. With multiple worship and training opportunities, the church will once again survive until the day when our new sanctuary will no longer be a dream, but a visible reality!
