Baptist Men on Mission is a group within our Flowood Baptist Church Membership whose primary concern is to involve all of our men in the church in worship and ministry. This is a group that does more than "meet and eat: We are involved in local (church ground/buildings, helping senior adults with needs, etc.), state (camps and assembly buildings), and national (mission church renovations) projects. It's what we are about!
Our men's group meets every third Sunday of each month (unless other-wise scheduled) at 7:00 AM at the church. A bountiful breakfast is served and various ministry-related opportunities are discussed. Biblical devotions are a part of these meetings, and they help us 'stay focused' on our ultimate mission.
For over twelve years now our men's group has gone all over the USA helping smaller churches and Baptist Associations with various types of construction needs. We've worked in the states of Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, Missouri, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, and West Virginia. We take this trip the third week of May, usually leaving on the Friday/Saturday night preceding that third Sunday. In recent years the Lord's "blessed us" to be able to offer the trip to anyone...at no cost...who is able to go. The funds have come via our annual golf tournament, which is held toward the end of April. All men are 'welcomed' to participate, and you do not have to be a member to go!
